EGUSD seeking nominations for Teachers of the Year February 1, 2010 The Elk Grove Unified School District is now accepting nominations for 2011 Teachers of the Year. Teachers of the Year can be nominated by anyone, including parents, community members, administrators, support personnel and other teachers. Elk Grove Unified Teachers of the Year should possess the following qualifications: exemplary teaching techniques; excellent knowledge of content; ability to motivate students to learn; positive and caring student relationships; ability to set high expectations for all students; experience in meeting students’ academic, personal and career goals; personal characteristics of patience, commitment and understanding; and excellent communications skills, both verbal and written. Nominations are due to the Curriculum/Professional Learning Department by 5 p.m. on Wednesday, February 24, 2010. Click here for a nomination form. Each nominee will be invited to attend an information meeting to discuss the application process for EGUSD Teachers of the Year at 4 p.m. on Tuesday, March 2 at the Robert L. Trigg Education Center. The application involves written responses to several questions.
